Frequently Asked Questions
How can I report a crime?Anyone that has information regarding unsolved crimes can
call 209-333-6771 to report what they know. Callers should not give there names, and are
assigned a secret code.
How much does Crime Stoppers pay for rewards?
Crime Stoppers pays up to $1000 per charge or
incident. The amount of the reward depends on what the person is wanted for. Crime Stoppers pays more
for felonies than for misdemeanors.
The rewards are determined on a case-by-case basis by the
Crime Stoppers Board of Directors at their monthly meeting.
How am I rewarded for a tip?
If the
information you have provided leads to an arrest or the capture of a fugitive, Crime Stoppers gives a cash reward
to the caller using the secret code they were provided. The caller can then pick up the cash
at a local bank with just their code. Since the reward is paid in cash, there is
no way to trace the reward to the recipient.
Is Lodi Area Crime Stoppers part of the police department?
No. Lodi Area Crime Stoppers is a non-profit organization. It is managed by a volunteer board
of directors comprised of community leaders, local businesses, and law enforcement personnel.
Is Lodi Crime Stoppers only for the Lodi Area?
Yes. Lodi Area Crime Stoppers covers the entire Lodi and surrounding area
(unincorporated San Joaquin County north of Eight Mile
Road).
Many other Crime Stopper programs exist in the USA
and other parts of the world and share information
obtained depending on jurisdictional areas. We also work with
surrounding agencies to support a safer community.
